Referral
Process
Developed
from our experience matching thousands of people seeking help to professionals
providing psychological services, our referral process consists of seven
steps.
1. Your First Contact
An appointment time is best set up for you by phone or
in person.
323-272-1478
8380 Melrose Ave.
Los Angeles, CA 90069
2.
Your Personal Interview
During this first meeting, one of our professional counselors
will be:
1. Defining the problem
2. Learning your history
3. Clarifying your needs
4. Learning your preferences
5. Focusing on your future goals
3.
Our Intake Staff Meeting
Our professional staff meets after the interview and
organizes your information along ten specific matching dimensions. For
each individual, couple or family the dimensions may vary in importance
and value. However, all are essential in optimizing a suitable therapeutic
match. These dimensions are:
1 Problem Compatibility
2 Method of Solving
3 Cultural/Religious
Background
4 Geographical
Area
5 Financial Consideration
6 Personal Rapport
7 Life Experiences
8 Sexual Preference
9 Age Preference
10 Language
4. Our Referral Search
Our referral search team searches the more than 1700
professionals in our resource bank, representing all major therapy and
counseling techniques and orientations, in all major geographical areas.
However, we are never limited to our current resources. We will search
through all existing professional resources and organizations for the
therapist who will fulfill your matching dimensions. Remember, our goal
is successful psychotherapy.
Once
our search is completed and the choices are focused on one or several
suitable professionals, our staff then personally contacts each by phone
or interview. We go over the ten matching dimensions; we make sure that
there is schedule compatibility for your initial appointment and subsequent
therapy.
5.
Your Referral
Once the referral has been secured, we contact you with
the name(s) and phone number(s) of the professional(s) who have been
personally matched for our referral search team.
6.
Contacting Your Therapist
Contacting your therapist is now easy. All you have to
do is call and set up your appointment. On occasion we can make the
appointment arrangement for you. This depends upon the situation.
7.
Our Follow-Through
After the first visit with your therapist we want to
hear from you. We also speak with your therapist. After the sixth visit
we make contact with you again. You will be contacted by us periodically
throughout the course of your therapy. We will always be interested
in how your therapy is progressing.
